Janice:
That may well be the coolest thing I've ever seen. But, because I live within sight of Mt. Washington, I now know why I went through three shovels this winter: Rock opera snow-making from summiteorologists with way too much time (and too few toys) on their hands.... El,
We just never know what we would do if we were snowbound for a long time. I personally think of "The Shining." In this case the entertainment was much more benign :D Janice Re: New Hampshire: Where Even Boiled Water Is Entertaining

Just out of curiosity, what's the temperature of boiling water at the summit of Mt. Washington?
I seem to remember from a long ago science class that water boils at different temperatures at different heights above sea level. Re: Re: New Hampshire: Where Even Boiled Water Is Entertaining

Dan,
I'm a historian and genealogist, but not a scientist alas. You can either contact the Mt. Washington Observatory through their web site OR their message boards (both links found above in the article) OR you can contact my friend David Brooks at the Granite Geek, and ask him! I bet he knows! Janice Re: Re: Re: New Hampshire: Where Even Boiled Water Is Entertaining
